Do not forget to read "Traveling with us", where you will find more information about our tours.
Q: How do I pay for my tour?
A: You will pay your tour by transferring money into our bank account. We will send you detailed information together with your booking confirmation. You can also read about this in our special travel terms.
Q: Are international flights included in the price?
A: No, you have to book your own international flight.
Q: Which airlines are not recomended?
A: There are quite a few airlines that are banned within the EU, you find a link to the list here.
Q: Do you have any restrictions on luggage?
A: We have no restrictions on how much luggage you can bring, but you have to be able to carry your own bag/bags. However most airlines do have restrictions on 20 kilos per person, and on some domestic flights in the Philippines it is common with 10-kilos restrictions on luggage. If you are affected by this it will say so in the trip dossier.
Q: Is travelling in the Philippines dangerous?
A: The Philippines is often associated with great diving, tropical islands and an amazing nature but also with political turmoil and natural disasters. We would be lying if we said that nothing bad has ever happened here. In the past, corruption and political turmoil was common, and some of this still exists. In the southern parts of the Philippines, or more correct on the western part of the island Mindanao, there are Muslim terror groups fighting the government. The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advice travellers not to go to Mindanao so we have no tours going to this area even though a lot of tourists go here.
Natural disasters do occur in the Philippines due to the geographic location. Many times the damages after, for example, a typhoon are huge since it's a poor country and many people live in huts. Nowadays authorities are quite good in forecasting typhoons and other weather phenomena, this has led to that some damage can be avoided or diminished. As a tourist you are going to have a lot of bad luck if you are going to be struck by natural disasters.
So back to the question in the headline. Is it dangerous travelling in the Philippines? I would like to put it this way: No, it's not dangerous to travel in the Philippines. The possibility of anything bad happening to you is small, the biggest threat to you is traffic, so if you rent a motorbike you should be careful. And yes - it is dangerous going to the Philippines - you risk a life long love story with this wonderful country!
