Combine history, culture and beach life with one of Asia's coolest cities - Bangkok. The trip starts in Bangkok and then continues to Siem Reap in Cambodia where you will find the temples of Angkor. Angkor is one of the most amazing constructions you will find on earth today. We then continue to Phnom Penh, the capitol of Cambodia with markets and bustling city life. Then we go south to Kep and Kampot where you will find beautiful French architecture and a deserted mountain station. We will also make a stop in Cambodia's beach town no 1: Sihanoukville. The tour ends in Bangkok.

Day 1 Bangkok

We meet up at our hotel in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. If you arrive early in the day there is a lot to see and do in this vibrant city: shopping, sightseeing on the river, a visit to the emerald Buddha and more. We will have a welcome dinner in the evening.

Day 2-5 The temples of Angkor

Overgrown temple

We fly from Bangkok to Siem Reap in Cambodia. The temples of Angkor were hidden in the jungle for hundreds of years and were not rediscovered until the 19th century. A visit to the temples is something that you will remember for the rest of your life. One of the days you will have the opportunity to go on a boat tour on Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, here you will find floating villages.

Day 6-7 Phnom Penh - the capital

After four hours with the bus we arrive in Phnom Penh. Here you will have a chance to learn more about Cambodia's tragic history by visits to the Killing Fields and Toul Sleng. Both are terrifying documents of the horrors of the red Khmers terror regime. You will also have the chance to visit the National museum where you find treasures and priceless objects from the temples of Angkor. You can also visit the famous Silver pagoda in the Royal palace. If you like markets and shopping a visit to some of the many markets is a must.

Day 8-9 Kep - Beautiful countryside and great seafood

The crabmarket in Kep

We take the bus south to Kep, the old beach town where the Cambodian jet set used to gather for vacation and recreation before the Red Khmers ceased power. Kep itself is a picturesque small sleepy town with some great caves and beautiful small islands just outside. The town is nowadays famous for its fresh seafood.

Day 10-12 Charming Kampot and Bokor Hill Station

Today we continue to Kampot, a small town where it seems like time has stood still. Let the city's charm embrace you, or take a walk along the river that runs through the city. In Kampot you will see a lot of French architecture from the 18th century, a memory from French colonial times. Day 11 we take a jeep to the abandoned mountain station Bokor high on a mountain surrounded by jungle. We spend the night in a Ranger station among the ruins. Day 12 we head back to Kampot before we continue to Sihanoukville.

Day 13 Cambodian beach life in Sihanoukville

This city, the youngest one in Cambodia, retrieved its name after King Sihanouk. We are going to stay here for two nights, and you will have time to explore the beaches or take a trip to some of the nearby islands. If you are interested in nature and wildlife we recommend a visit to "Ream National Park". Here you can find more than 150 different species of birds and if you are lucky you will see monkeys. At night there are a lots of bars and restaurants for those craving for a bit of nightlife. You will also have the opportunity to visit a school for children founded and run by the organisation "Help the Cambodian Children". A visit here is much appreciated by the children as well as by the visitors.

Day 14 Koh Kong - Cambodia's "wild west"

We take a car to Koh Kong. The trip offers some great scenery and we will cross four beautiful rivers before we arrive in the afternoon. Koh Kong is known as the wild west of Cambodia. Not many tourists come here, and it is part of the charm with this place. There is only a few paved roads going through the town, everywhere else the dirt roads shine red.
